Amtrak's Buy One Ticket, Get One Free sale is good for travel between August 1, 2019 and March 30, 2020, which allows for plenty of time to get your plans together. Both bedrooms and roomettes come with linens, pillows, plenty of storage, outlets, and temperature control. You'll be able to take advantage of the trains' lounge and dining services, while also having your own private space to enjoy your holiday or weekend jaunt. And if that wasn't enough, passengers will also have a dedicated train attendant who can take meal reservations, assist in making and taking down the beds, and alert you when your stop is close.
Some of our favorite routes include a trip down the East Coast from New York to Charleston, which has tickets starting at $323. Or you can explore two of America's greatest cities by using New York as a starting point and heading inland to Chicago. Some of the best deals in the offer are on routes headed south, included a San Antonio to New Orleans trip for $195 and a Chicago to Memphis journey for $197. If you're on the West Coast, there is plenty to choose from as well, including a Portland to Los Angeles route for $357.
