Traveling by train is one of the most exciting ways to see the world. And with Amtrak, you can sit back, relax, and take in some of the best views North America has to offer. With 30 train routes throughout the United States and Canada, the railroad corporation is looking for creatives to join its recently announced #AmtrakTakeMeThere social media residency program. If selected, you’ll embark on a complimentary round-trip adventure on one of Amtrak’s long-distance routes, plus you’ll also win spending money of up to $1,000 for travel costs.

Amtrak is looking for people who use social media to share their experiences aboard, but you don’t have to have millions of followers to be considered. “We’re not looking for glitzy influencers,” say Amtrak. “We hope you’re a leader in your social media community, and your creativity and energy allows you to connect with your followers at a deeper level.” Applications will be selected by a panel of judges based on their writing, photography, video, and social media engagement skills.

The program aims to provide a relatable, unfiltered view of what it’s like to travel one of Amtrak’s routes, as opposed to a professional ad. Amtrak CEO Tim Griffin said in a statement, “Some of the best travel stories occur on our long-distance trains, and we are looking for travelers to share their real experiences.”

Applications are being accepted now through to midnight EST on January 31st, 2019. You must be over 18 years old and a U.S. resident to enter. Ready for an adventure? Apply now via the Amtrak website.
