Life-Size Copper Tree Sculptures Immortalize the Beauty of Demolished Forests

As the world’s environment and natural resources continue to rapidly diminish, Lee Gil Rae constructs enormous forests of copper to capture the beauty and intricacy of trees in permanence. His most recent gallery, Pine Tree, contains a surreal, leafless forest that one can meander through, with spiraling branches that appear organic and lures viewers to follow the curves and notches of aged tree bark.

India Aims to Break World Record by Planting 50 Million Trees in 24 Hours

Earlier this month, citizens from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh came together not only to break a world record, but also to make a positive global impact. On July 11th, over 800,000 volunteers collectively worked towards planting 50 million trees in a single day, with the ultimate goal of helping their country deal with climate change. Government leaders in Uttar Pradesh were very open about their target of setting new records.

Stunning Winners of the 2016 iPhone Photography Awards

The 9th iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAwards)—an annual international competition that celebrates iPhone and iPad photography—announced its winners this week. Submissions included photographs from 139 countries around the world, and there were multiple winners in each of the 19 categories ranging from Abstract, Nature, News and Events, to Still Life and Others. The Grand Prize was awarded to Siyuan Niu of China for his entry titled The Man and the Eagle.
