In his Velo Series, embroidery artist Walker Boyes of TrueFort captures the quaint and colorful charm of flower-filled bicycle baskets. Every handmade piece exhibits a cheerful color palette and showcases the artist's knack for needlework.
The beautifully embroidered Velo pieces feature big bunches of flowers as they spill from the baskets of candy-colored bikes. The blooms are rendered in a range of tones and delicately stitched in meticulous detail. The exquisite and seemingly animated aesthetic of the flowers brightens up the simple scenes, which typically feature only a stylized cycle set against a solid background. From their balanced compositions to their pleasing color combinations, the charming pieces perfectly capture the artist's Velo vision: “to enjoy the ride.”
You can see Boyes' beautiful bike-themed work (as well as other flower embroidery and equally colorful creations) on the TrueFort Instagram. Additionally, if you'd like to have your hands on your own work of bicycle art, Boyes sells both patterns and completed pieces in his shop. Each embroidered bike is stretched over bars like a work on canvas, adding even more flair to their unique design.
