Pulsating 60-Panel Light Installation Celebrates the Micro Beauty of Yellowstone National Park

Inspired by the intricate patterns found in nature, Venezuelan artist Claudia Bueno created Pulse, a stunning light installation at Meow Wolf’s new exhibition space in Las Vegas. It comprises layers of white line drawings on 60 glass panels that, when illuminated, appear to move and throb like living organisms. The inspiration for Pulse came when Bueno visited Yellowstone National Park and was fascinated by the natural landscape.

Artist Handcrafts Tiny Floating Islands With Enchanting Little Houses Embedded in Them

Amsterdam-based artist Rosa de Jong creates fantastical miniature landscapes that appear to float in mid-air. Her series, titled Micro Matter, sees found wood repurposed as rugged terrain, where trees and moss grow around jumbles of houses that are precariously placed on steep hillsides. Although de Jong’s sculptures look otherworldly, they still hold a certain earthly familiarity. She finds her natural materials all over the world.

Yayoi Kusama Has Two Immersive ‘Mirror Room’ Installations Coming To the Tate Modern

Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama began creating mirror installations in the 1960s as a way to immerse visitors in dazzling, surreal environments. Soon, fans will have the rare opportunity to enjoy two of Kusama's recent works in person, as the Tate Modern announced the upcoming exhibition, Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror Rooms. Originally scheduled for 2020 to celebrate the museum's 20th anniversary, the installation will finally be unveiled in March 2021.
