Every week, after lugging the bins out to the street the night before trash day, the empty cans would mysteriously reappear right outside of their garages the next morning.

Male Same-Sex Foster Penguins Are Proud Parents of an Adorable Newborn Chick

Congratulations are in order for two male Humboldt penguins at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, New York. After adopting an egg last year, Elmer and Lima—the same-sex foster couple—successfully incubated an egg and became parents to the new hatchling on January 1, 2022. Elmer and Lima formed a “pair bond” for the current breeding season and are the first same-sex foster couple at the zoo.

When a 10-year-old girl went missing during a snowstorm, people feared the worst. But miraculously, the girl was found alive after surviving 18 hours overnight in a freezing blizzard in Russia. The only way she made it through the night was with the help of a furry friend—a stray dog. The girl (who was not named by authorities) went missing from school in Uglegorsk, Russia, and was essentially trapped during the icy snowstorm.

Lost Letter From WWII Soldier Finally Gets Delivered 76 Years Later

When American soldier John Gonsalves was stationed in Germany during World War II, he did what many service people do; he wrote a letter to his mom. Intending it to be delivered in 1945, the correspondence never made it to her. It did, however, get delivered to his wife—76 years later. Gonsalves’ wife, Angelina, was shocked when her mail carrier dropped off the airmail envelope at her home in Woburn, Massachusetts.
