Shadows Come Alive in Stunning Black and White Scenes by Guy Cohen

Using strong, dramatic contrasts between light and shadow, 24-year-old photographer Guy Cohen redefines expectations in his ongoing collection of black and white images. In each composition, the Jerusalem-based student photographer plays with perception and rearranges ways of seeing the world.

Often, it seems that he gives life to many inanimate objects. On bright, sunny days, upside-down shadows become the right-side-up subjects; a large forest of trees look like they are leaning down to speak to a lone man; and rounded streetlights seem to follow the motion of a biker passing by.

Through his camera lens and a vivid imagination, Cohen creates a fantastic energy that emanates from his captivating narratives. He recreates everyday moments in a spectacular study of shape, form, and light set against an urban environment.
