People Love How Much Ireland’s President Loves His Bernese Mountain Dogs

The Irish President loves when people pet his dog. from r/aww

You don’t have to love dogs to talk to Irish President Michael D. Higgins, but it certainly helps. The head of state has gained a passionate following thanks to his adorable Bernese Mountain Dogs named Síoda and Bród. They often accompany him as he goes about his daily business of meeting with his constituents and officials both in the Irish government and abroad.

As you might imagine, people are delighted when Síoda and Bród make an appearance and can't help but fawn over their big smiles and massive floof. Bród is especially delighted by all of the fanfare—the “attention-seeking male” doesn’t shy away from being on a stage or in front of a camera. Because of this, people expect to see the two pups with Higgins everywhere they go; the most asked question of Higgins and his wife Sabina is, “Where are the dogs?”

See why the people of Ireland are so infatuated with Higgins and his dogs when you scroll below.
