Charming Illustrations Reimagine Disney Animal Characters as Humans

What would animal characters from animated Disney films look like if they were human? Art student Alaina Bastian has imagined some of these scenarios in her charming series of illustrations called Humanized. Taking into consideration the visual style of each animated film, she replaces the creatures with their similarly-drawn Homo sapiens counterpart. Bastian went to great lengths to ensure that her updated personalities retain the attitudes of their predecessors.

Giant Floating Dandelion Made of Over 3,000 Hand-Blown Glass Orbs

Artist Wolf Buttress has created a sculptural installation that looks like a giant dandelion wafting in the breeze. Its center, surrounded by delicate, tiny florets, mimics the flower's wispy shape and feel. Titled Lucent, this larger-than-life orb is suspended above a darkened, reflecting pool that mirrors the brilliant illuminated tips, doubling its stunning presence. Although it has the soft appearance of a dandelion, Buttress produced Lucent with another, much larger, natural body in mind–the universe.

With this expert grasp of the two planes, he's able to skillfully manipulate wire to create a zoo of mind-boggling animal sculptures. Though they are technically three-dimensional, the artist's work has a visually deceptive quality that makes it appear to be a drawing, at first glance.
