Interview: Erin Hanson Pioneers the Energetic Style of Open-Impressionism

Artist Erin Hanson began to study oil painting when she was only eight years old. By the age of ten, she had completed her first paid commission. Her portfolio of work only grew from there, and after graduating from UC Berkeley, the creative established open-impressionism–her own distinct style of painting. Before long, other artists started emulating Hanson's technique and she was credited as the inventor of this contemporary style.

Couple Documents Rapid 8-Month Growth of Their Adorable German Shepherd Puppy

The puppy stage, while cute, doesn't last that long, and Australian couple Alex Dennison and Ashley Lewis can attest to this fact. They had the foresight to formally document the development of their German Shepherd puppy, Nasra. Starting from eight weeks old, they snapped pictures of Lewis holding her, compiling them in a single row, with the last image from when Nasra was eight months old.

Artist Uses Natural Landscapes to Color in Cutout Silhouettes of Animals

Using paper as his medium of choice, the artist carves out a sleek animal silhouette on each sheet and proceeds to photograph the said cutout, superimposed on the world around him.
