Sea Glass Sculptures Reflect the Relaxing Qualities of the Ocean

Artist Jonathan Fuller recycles the ocean-polished sea glass that he finds along Cornwall's coastline to create vibrant, yet calming, works of art. “These frosted shards are tumbled by the elements against rocks and sand, creating smooth-shaped textured jewels,” Fuller told us. “It comes from a variety of sources including industry, sea defences, cargo spills as well as general littering. The most commonly found colours are greens, browns and clears from the bottling industry.

Hanging Spherical Lodges Provide Cozy, Eco-Friendly Retreat in the Forests of Laos

The Nam Et-Phou Louey Biodiversity Conservation Area in northern Laos, Vietnam could soon be the site of unique spherical eco-lodges that hang from the trees. These unconventional accommodations would allow visitors to observe and immerse themselves within the gorgeous landscape near the Nam Poung village. They're part of a community-led design project by Cole Company, aimed at increasing eco-tourism and jobs for local villagers. Structures like bird and insect nests inspired these suspended sleeping pods.

Dreamy Animal Illustrations Come to Life through an Energetic Brushstroke Style

Illustrator Amy Hamilton employs both digital and traditional tools to create dreamy designs that take inspiration from nature. In order to create the graceful softness that is displayed in each illustration, Hamilton utilizes conventional instruments such as graphite, gouache (thickened, opaque pigments ground in water), and ink, adding in digital elements simply to emphasize the soothing, subdued textures in her work. While the illustrations are unique and imaginative, they have a rustic feel to them.

Photos Mashed Together into Delightfully Imaginative Collages

Creative director Stephen McMennamy merges his original photography to create delightfully quirky mashups called #ComboPhotos. With careful planning and positioning, he splices together snapshots of different scenes and objects, resulting in colorful compositions that play with scale and juxtaposition. Trucks loaded with giant Froot Loops, delicious donut-headphones, and a skier flying over the crest of an ice cream cone are only some of the brilliant collages he's come up with.
