Photographer Documents Over 2,500 Colorful Basketball Courts in Hong Kong

Bell managed to photograph all 2,549 courts in the city, an impressive feat that took meticulous research and multiple trips to the city. Now, he's celebrating the fruits of his labor with the opening of a solo exhibition and the release of his self-published book.

Newly Established LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund Will Offer Critical Aid to Artists and Art Workers

A new fund has recently been established for artists and arts workers impacted by the destructive Los Angeles firestorms. Led by the J. Paul Getty Trust, the LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund launched on January 15 with $12 million, and is rapidly growing in response to wildfire devastation. Several other local art institutions are participating in the fundraising effort, including MOCA, LACMA, and the Hammer Museum.

All of Chicago’s Municipal Buildings Are Now Powered by 100% Renewable Energy

Each year, approximately 700,000 megawatt hours of electricity are expended to power Chicago’s 411 municipal buildings. The beginning of 2025, however, signaled a major milestone in the city’s efforts toward increased sustainability. As of January 1, all buildings owned and operated by the city are officially powered by 100% renewable energy, including O’Hare International Airport, Harold Washington Library, 98 fire stations, and two of the world’s largest water treatment facilities.

Artists Are Paying Tribute to the Heroism of Los Angeles Firefighters

As the Los Angeles wildfires continue to blaze, thousands of heroic firefighters have risked their lives to get the fires under control, all while saving lives and homes. There are roughly about 7,500 firefighters and emergency personnel battling the multiple fires ravaging the Greater Los Angeles area. Among them are members of the California National Guard, firefighters from countries like Mexico, and inmate firefighters.
