From New Jersey to Washington State, Massive Wooden Troll Sculptures Are Cropping up Across the U.S.

Danish recycling artist and climate activist Thomas Dambo is invading the United States with his monumental troll sculptures. Together with 22 troll builders, Dambo has spent the summer creating 10 sculptures that stretch from the East Coast to the West Coast. His U.S. tour, titled Way of the Bird King is using over 1,000 discarded palettes to create these magical woodland creatures.

Neo Shinjuku Atsushi provides a unique experience that transports patrons into a dystopian world. 150-Foot Sculpture of a Pink Rabbit Lies Down in Front of Indonesia’s Prambanan Temple

American artist KAWS has installed one of his iconic characters in yet another scenic setting as part of the KAWS:HOLIDAY journey. Large-scale sculptures of his characters have already traveled to cities like Hong Kong, Melbourne, Singapore, and Bristol. Photographer Spent Eight Years Capturing Life on the Gritty New York Subway in the 1970s and 1980s

Over the course of eight years, Swiss photographer Willy Spiller documented life on the New York City subway. From 1977 until 1984, Spiller amassed nearly 2,000 images of the subway. And in doing so, he was able to create a visual time capsule of this critical moment in the city's history. His collection, called Hell on Wheels, is a highly sought-after visual that shows the good and bad of the era.
