Using discarded texts, she crafts three-dimensional animals and objects from the pages. From ships that sprout from antique atlases to insects flying from animal guides, these carefully-modeled sculptures playfully interact with their original source. Taylor spends countless hours finding materials for her art.

Artist Burns Intricate Landscapes Onto Pieces of Reclaimed Wood

The Canada-based artist, better known as Art & Airplanes, practices pyrography, a technique that involves using a heated metal pen to burn wood. Originally from Saskatchewan, Bergeron says she discovered her love of the Western landscape over time.

Ireland Is Offering $92,000 For People to Move to Its Remote Islands

In an effort to revitalize about 30 remote islands off of the country's coast, the Irish government is providing grants worth up to $92,000 for people to relocate there. Currently, these secluded islands have less than 3,000 inhabitants altogether, with some places having only two permanent residents.
