As the end of yet another year amidst a pandemic (that just won’t go away) quickly approaches, we’re all inclined to take pause and reflect on all that’s passed—good and bad. It’s been a tumultuous year full of highs and lows, but mainly a lot of gray area. In 2020, we were able to pinpoint the anomaly—the world was ravaged by a pandemic, a disastrous event unlike anything else in our lifetime.

Snowstorm Traps 60 People in a UK Pub With Oasis Cover Band for 3 Nights

Many of us have had nights when we stay out much longer than we planned, but imagine going to a bar and coming home three days later. That’s what happened to around 60 people who visited Tan Hill Inn, UK’s highest pub. After a powerful snowstorm hit northern England on Friday, the pub guests were trapped inside by 2.7 meters (9 feet) of snow.

Illustrated Cloud Creatures Creep Through Rural Landscapes Like Gigantic Ghosts

Clouds can be pretty gloomy, but these misty creatures by Barcelona-based Vorja Sánchez are particularly ominous. In his ongoing series, Interventions, Sánchez transforms rural landscapes into dream-like terrains that appear to be home to a whole host of ghostly characters. Sánchez begins by taking photos of his nearby countryside. He then uses a fine-line pen with white ink to meticulously hand-draw his wispy characters into the scene.
