The legendary Musée du Louvre in Paris is presently closed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, like many art institutions around the world, the Louvre is taking the opportunity to bring its massive collection of artwork and artifacts to a global audience by creating easy-to-explore virtual catalogs. The museum has revamped its website and has added a new, free platform where researchers and art lovers can browse 482,000 entries from the rich collections.

This Elusive Green Home Was Designed to Fit Perfectly in the Icelandic Hillside

Nestled in the hills overlooking the Icelandic lake of Þingvallavatn sits a camouflaged home called Thingvallavatn House. This modern abode was designed by architecture firm KRADS as a holiday home for musicians Tina Dickow and Helgi Hrafn Jónsson. To help blend the building into the natural site, the architects designed green roofs for each of the three built volumes and completed the facades in black wood panels.

Architects Unveil a Massive Plan for Chinese City That’s Dedicated To Science and Tech

Architecture firm OMA, in collaboration with gmp architeckten, was announced as the winner of a masterplan competition for Chengdu Future City. It will be located in China's Sichuan province, and the new car-free development will act as a massive innovation district for the advancement of science and technology. Planned for an area of nearly five million square feet, Chengdu Future City will include new amenities for multiple universities, laboratories, and offices.
