Artist Assembles Awe-Inspiring Cities Brick by Brick To Then Watch Them Topple Down

It takes just one wrong move, and artist Raffaele Salvoldi’s sculptures come crashing down. His large-scale, ephemeral architecture is hand-built, block by identical wooden block. Salvoldi places the rectangular pieces like you might build a Jenga tower; each one is simply stacked on the other without glue or other supports. Thus, the tens of thousands of blocks are individually vulnerable to spilling over and taking other parts of the building with them.

Colombia Bans All New Oil and Mining Projects in Its Portion of the Amazon Rainforest

Colombia boasts a small fraction of the Amazon rainforest (6%), but it makes up 40% of the South American country. In an effort to protect its biodiversity, particularly in the face of climate change, Colombia has announced that they will be banning new mining and oil projects in their portion of the Amazon rainforest, and plan to turn the area into a reserve for renewable natural resources.

Art Basel Miami Beach 2025 Closes With Strong Sales and Equally Stunning Art

Now that Miami Art Week has officially come to an end, fair organizers are celebrating yet another successful year of programming. Among those with an impressive turnout was Art Basel Miami Beach, which drew in more than 280 galleries from 43 countries around the world. Across its VIP and public days, the renowned art fair attracted some 80,000 visitors, ranging from private collectors and patrons to curators and artists.
