Playful Dioramas Offer a Peek Into the Colorful Personalities Under the Sea

Artist Céline Chevrel encases entire worlds beneath glass. Her ocean-inspired diorama art features layered cut paper creatures nestled among colorful environments that are rich in detail. Calling them “curious boxes,” her small sculptures feature layers of cut paper that offer a 3D peek into the lives of whales, jellyfish, piranhas, and much more. Chevrel uses her skills as a children’s book illustrator to tell stories inside of her dioramas.

Repairman-Turned-Artist Crafts an Eye-Catching Dome Using Recycled Bicycle Wheels

In 1994, Vancouver-born bicycle repairman Philippe LeBlond relocated to Yukon, a Canadian territory known for its beautiful scenery. While he made this move to set up shop and enjoy nature, he wound up discovering—and eventually joining—a thriving arts community in the small town of Whitehorse. Merging his mechanical interests with his newfound creativity, LeBlond began crafting sculptures out of old bicycle parts, including a recent dome made out of recycled rims.

Eye-Catching Blackwork Tattoos Capture the Delicate Beauty of Flowers

Vancouver-based tattoo artist Vanessa Dong channels her femininity and celebrates her love of nature with her incredible floral tattoos. Dong’s black and gray tattoos beautifully adorn the wearer’s skin, and are often placed to elegantly wrap around shoulders, forearms, and thighs. Pretty peonies, sunflowers, magnolias, and more are expertly rendered with fine lines and subtle shading.
