Ever-Changing Turtle Jewelry Encases Dazzling Tiny Worlds in Their Resin Shells

Turtle Jewelry by Secret Wood

Vancouver-based designers Secret Wood produce enchanting jewelry handcrafted from resin. Known for their exquisite, multifaceted “stone” rings, their creations contain miniature landscapes of faraway places. They’ve now taken that idea—incorporating the same curious worlds—but have placed them on the backs of turtles.

Called World Turtle, Secret Wood has fashioned pendants in the shape of the iconic, shelled creature. Its body is made of sterling silver, and it provides a setting for the brilliant resin stone. From waterfalls to winter scenes to coral reefs, the same level of dazzling color and captivating detail is present in the turtle shell as it is in their rings. When the light catches the angular edges, new facets are revealed.

One of the best features of World Turtle is in its customization. Secret Wood has integrated powerful magnets into the design that connect the shell to the base. That way, you can change the pendants as often as you change your clothes.

The turtle holds a special place in the hearts of Secret Wood. They take inspiration from Hindu, Chinese, and Indigenous tales, and laud the creature for its perseverance and determination. “We were completely inspired by these mythologies and knew we had to use them in our creations,” Roman Wood, founder of Secret Wood, tells us in an email. “There are so many beautiful landscapes on this Earth, the creative possibilities are endless.”

The World Turtle pendants are now available for pre-order through Secret Wood. If you’re captivated by them, act fast—the pre-order lasts through October 18, 2017, or until their “crafting capacity” is filled.

Designers at Secret Wood—known for their resin rings—have created a new collection of turtle jewelry.
