German designer Britta Boeckmann (of BoldB) creates sand and resin jewelry that captures the beauty of Australia's ocean landscapes. Lovingly handcrafted using real beach sand and blue resin, each piece from the Aqua Collection looks like a tiny, wearable beach that wearers can take with them wherever they go.
Boeckmann’s love of creating began as a child, when her father owned a hardware store. With access to plenty of tools and materials, she began exploring her ideas and her passion soon grew into a career in Industrial Design. After completing an internship with a British jewelry design company, she became fascinated by the many possibilities of wearable accessories and hasn’t looked back since.
Boeckmann relocated to Australia in 2013, where she began to tinker with wood at a local woodworking group. It was here that she learned various techniques to create her nature-inspired jewelry, and she began combining colorful resin with scraps of timbers. Made using bonded beach sand, ultramarine blue resin, and metal pigments, each beautiful, handcrafted design pays homage to Australia's stunning shorelines.
Scroll down to browse through some of Boeckmann’s beautiful sand and resin jewelry, and check out her Etsy to purchase one (or more) for yourself. Each purchase from the Aqua Collection will help provide one year of safe water to one person in need, through the support of Water.org, an international nonprofit organization.
