Custom Vehicle Wrap Turns Old VW Bus into "Star Wars" R2-D2

The Force is strong with this Volkswagen bus. San Diego-based artist Csar Aguzzoli had wondered how to transform his family's old-looking vehicle into something more exciting. After a Star Wars movie marathon, he and his crew decided to pay homage to a lovable droid. They did so with a custom Star Wars-themed vehicle wrap made to resemble the character R2-D2. It was a large undertaking, and Aguzzoli was involved in every step of the process. He designed the wrap, printed it, and applied it to the bus using a heat gun.

To create the look of R2-D2, Aguzzoli and his team reproduced every object on the droid and adapted them to fit the shape of the bus. All of the measurements and computer work took about 50 hours, and that doesn't even include the time they spent vinyl wrapping. But, in the end, he and his family have a totally unique-looking Volkswagen that any Star Wars fan will appreciate.

Aguzzoli lays out the entire process on his Instructables page. That way, you too could have the droid you're looking for.
