These Map Necklaces Celebrate the Artistic Streets of Los Angeles and Chicago

There are certain cities that should be on every art lover's list. Though these sites are scattered all around the world, many can be found right here in the United States, with Chicago and Los Angeles serving as excellent examples. Inspired by these artistic destinations, designer Talia Sari has crafted necklaces that turn maps of the City of Angels and the Windy City into wearable works of abstract art.

At first glance, these eye-catching pendants look like non-pictorial designs. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that each geometric grid is actually a distinctive map of Chicago or Los Angeles. This is especially evident if you're familiar with the cities, as the bold and bisecting Chicago River and the twisting and turning roads of the Hollywood Hills are undeniably recognizable.

To create these unique map necklaces, Talia Sari blends a background in industrial design and experience as a goldsmith with a lifelong love of travel. Inspired by the idea of keeping a “home away from home” close to your heart, each brass, gold-plated necklace allows you to bring a piece of the beloved cities with you wherever your travels take you.

You can find these bold necklaces in the My Modern Met Store.
