This Incredibly Detailed Dragon Head Was Expertly Carved into a Watermelon

Italian sculptor Valeriano Fatica has proven that watermelon can be more than just a tasty treat. On his YouTube channel, the artist uploaded an incredible time-lapse video showing this summer fruit as it's transformed into a remarkably realistic dragon head. With various sculpting tools, the fruit carver unveiled menacing eyes, intricate scales, and an elaborate dragon mouth that will give you chills. Fatica also utilized the watermelon's red coloring to accentuate the dragon's scales in greater detail.

Based on the sculptor's impressive collection of videos, it seems that watermelon isn't his only specialty. Fatica has carved a lemon into a mouse, a potato into writer H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu deity, and a pumpkin into the Joker. No matter what the fruit or vegetable, this artist will forever change how we view these common food items.
