Greek illustrator and graphic designer Meni Chatzipanagiotou is a master of detailed ink drawings—but she doesn’t always use paper as her canvas. Recently, the talented artist has been transforming wooden eggs into beautiful, decorative objects adorned with her nature-inspired designs.
Lush, monochrome gardens and fantastical forest scenes wrap around all sides of the curvaceous eggs. Each piece has been meticulously drawn and painted by hand using thin black liners, ink, acrylic paint, and gouache. Chatzipanagiotou sells her wooden eggs on Etsy, where each special piece comes with its own wooden stand and box that are also illustrated in the artist’s signature style.
Chatzipanagiotou is able to fit a surprising amount of detail onto the small surfaces—in one piece, an egg features an entire mountain scene with a swirling night sky, and in another, a mystical female figure sleeps in a meadow under the stars.
You can see more of Chatzipanagiotou’s work on Instagram and purchase her eggs, art prints, and even illustrated wood slices on Etsy.
