Dieter Rams "Less and More" Exhibition at Design Museum, London

As the director at the German electronics manufacturer Braun for over 30 years, Dieter Rams is known in the modern design world as a legend. Coining the term, “Less, but better,” Rams is known for his simple designs that take the superfluous out and leave only the necessary in. It's even believed that Rams has been very influential on Jonathan Ive, the head designer at Apple or a demi-god for those Apple fanboys.

If you are in London or happen to make your way there in the next few months, make sure to check out Dieter Rams ‘Less And More' exhibition at the Design Museum.

“The exhibition will showcase Rams' landmark designs for Braun and furniture manufacturer Vits, examine how Rams' design ethos inspired Braun's entire product range for over 40 years, and assess his lasting influence on today's design landscape.”

Rams is the man behind these 10 principles of good design:

Good design is innovative.
Good design makes a product useful.
Good design is aesthetic.
Good design makes a product understandable.
Good design is unobtrusive.
Good design is honest.
Good design is long-lasting.
Good design is thorough down to the last detail.
Good design is environmentally friendly.
Good design is as little design as possible.

The exhibit started last week and will go until March 7, 2010. For more information, check out the Design Museum's website.
