Visual artist Eric Par toys with the concepts of time, light, and space with his signature light photography. Each enchanting image is expertly brought to life through long exposure. Par's portfolio showcases a bewitching collection of images that explore the delicate beauty of the human body hypnotically paired with light and movement.
For the most part, the only light source within the photographs is the one in hand. Incorporating contemporary dancers and circus artists, Par's models are often backlit with a halo-esque glow of light, simultaneously highlighting their bodies and casting them into the shadows. In either case, the silhouetted models use their skills to manipulate the light drawings within the frame, creating infinite circles and sensual waves of light against their night sky backdrop.
Par's most recent project, Little Circle, is a dance film produced in coordination with contemporary dancer Kim Henry. Shooting around the world, from Australia to Morocco and Iceland, the films seeks to “explore and get inspired by infinite spaces: deserts, oceans, fields and mountains,” contrasting global landscapes with delicate dance movements. The project has not yet been completed and while updates of this project are released on Par's Facebook page, in the meantime we have included another of the artist's short films below, created with thousands upon thousands of photographs, a flash-light, and a high-tech 360-degree environment.
