Scooch on over Audrey K, let's make some room for Stella. Stella Im Hultberg is a painter who's currently living and working in Brooklyn, NYC. She was born in South Korea, raised in Seoul, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and later in California, where she studied Industrial Design and worked as a product designer before serendipitously finding a career in painting and drawing. What's so amazing about her work is that she beautifully blends old and new styles and techniques. There are strong classical elements in her work as well as a clear Asian influence in regard to her choice of materials and her use of calligraphic marks. Gorgeous!
