“Hidden Rainbow Hair” Trend Conceals Vibrant Colors Beneath Naturally-Shaded Locks

Contemporary hair dye trends have women transforming their natural-colored locks into mermaid-inspired masterpieces and striking palettes of silver. These unconventional shades are undoubtedly eye-catching, likely to get anyone noticed while walking down the street. For those who want to experiment with bold locks but also want to appear inconspicuous, Hidden Rainbow Hair is the ideal trend. It’s perfect for wearing vibrant colors that can be camouflaged when necessary.

Hidden Rainbow Hair uses a dyeing technique called underlights that conceal a brilliant range of colors beneath the curtain of a natural shade. When the hair lays flat, it’s hard to tell that it was dyed; once the hair is in a bun or braids, however, there’s a stunning reveal of cerulean blues, shamrock greens, and lilac purples. The range of colors is up to the wearer—some go for the standard ROYGBIV scheme while others prefer pastels or jewel-toned locks.
