Alya Galinovskaya (better known as mimi_brune) creates amazingly refined food and flower arrangements that appear more like still-life paintings than Instagram pictures. Mouthwatering sweet treats, sumptuous bright green asparagus, and flower petals falling delicately onto oak tables–each refined image is a miniature work of art in and of itself. Evoking dark tones and plain backgrounds that allow the colourful focal pieces to pop off the page, this St. Petersburg-based photographer has an Instagram account that is a feast for the eyes.
Galinovskaya makes a living in hotel management but spends her free-time transforming her surroundings. Filling every nook and cranny with plants and things of beauty, she dreams of one day owning a huge garden where she can spend all her time “digging, planting, growing, tying up and feeding up the flowers.” As she explains to Instagram Blog, creating these beautiful pieces of living art makes her home come alive.
With an eye for classically stylish compositions and a talent for producing aesthetically appealing images using natural elements, Galinovskaya has cultivated one of the most graceful Instagram pages we have seen. She gets a simple joy out of her tasteful creations: “The whole process of creating a unique microcosm within the photo frame – that's what gives me goose bumps and leaves no words to describe the feelings.”
