Artist and musician Benny Harlem and his 6-year-old daughter Jaxyn have recently taken the Instagram world by storm. The two are adorable together, showcasing a loving bond between a father and his daughter. What sets them apart, however, is their fabulous fashion and awe-inspiring hairdos. They sport natural-style hair that rivals one another in length—Benny’s locks fall well below his shoulders—and they dress in complementary attire, posing like a pair of high-fashion models.
The duo bonds over picture taking and crafting their impeccable style. Benny began cultivating his look as a teenager after being inspired by his beautician mother. “It’s just a part of our family, taking care of our bodies, taking care of our minds, taking care of our hair,” he tells Instagram. Although they have a lot of fun together, being her dad is something that Benny takes very seriously. He says, “Fatherhood is a miracle and an honor. To be loved and greeted with gratitude from your child for this gift is fulfilling.” He calls himself the “protector” of Jaxyn and encourages her to be a strong and confident person.
Aside from encouraging his daughter, Benny sees his popular Instagram account as an example for other fathers. “[I hope] me and my daughter's relationship could help another young man who has a baby and a mother,” he told Paper Mag. “[A young man who may be] thinking about skipping out, [could see] our relationship and see how things can be and the great side of being a parent. That could affect and influence the next man.”
