The Bios Incube aims to revolutionize how we view death by honoring our loved ones in the form of a blossoming tree. Utilizing sustainable design, the Bios Incube includes a biodegradable urn, an incubator that helps you monitor the urn, and even a mobile app to keep you updated on your tree's progress. This system was specifically designed for those who have limited access to natural land and for those who want a burial alternative that's eco-friendly. “Bios Incube changes the way people see death, converting the ‘end of life' into a transformation and a return to life through nature,” the company told us in an e-mail. “[It is] a smart, sustainable, and ecologically friendly way to approach what's, probably, one of the most important moments in human life.”
The Bios Incube is actually the world's first, app-enabled tree incubator that allows cremains to be transformed into a tree. To manage the system, all you have to do is plant your Bios Urn into the Bios Incube, place the included sensor on top of the soil, fill the Incube with water, connect to the app, and the sensor will then track the surrounding weather conditions, water quality, and soil conductivity. The Bios Incube is also 100% reusable, which means that it can be used to grow other plants and trees.
