3D Renderings of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Unbuilt Architecture Celebrate His Creative Genius

One of the most prolific architects of the 20th century, Frank Lloyd Wright had no shortage of ideas. Throughout his life, he designed 1,171 architectural works. Many of them, like the Guggenheim Museum and Fallingwater, were eventually built. But over half—660 to be exact—never moved beyond paper. Now, thanks to the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, we are finally getting a look at what his unbuilt architecture would have looked like.

Boundless Theater is a stunning design created for the Egret Bay Art Museum in Rizhao, Shandong Province, China. Located at the foothills of a sacred Buddhist mountain, the plans call for structures that unite the space with the natural landscape. Surrounded by cherry trees, the space is filled with undulating steel mesh “buildings” that provide a light canopy.

Paris’ Iconic Notre Dame Cathedral Is Reopening to the Public in 2024

Five years after a devastating fire ripped through Paris's Notre Dame Cathedral, the iconic Gothic church is set to reopen. In late 2024, visitors will once again be able to enjoy this monument after an $865 million reconstruction project. After initial delays due to COVID-19, the project is now quickly moving forward. Over the course of this year, the cathedral's spire will reclaim its place in the city's skyline, symbolizing the rebirth of the church.
