Designers Custom-Build Luxury Lounge Room for Fancy Felines

Modern Cat Furniture by INDOT

While most pet owners know that cats can make themselves at home almost anywhere, many would argue that our feline friends are worthy of luxury accommodation. Today, modern cat furniture is more popular than ever. So much so that there’s even an interior design term for the genre in circulation: catitecture. One design firm to embrace the trend is Taiwan-based INDOT, who designed a modern kitty lounge for a family home.

The structure—made from glass and wood—provides a dynamic space where the owner’s four cats can play and relax. Appearing to “float” within the modern living room, the custom-built design is mounted onto a recessed wall and supported by hidden metal rods. With two entrances at either side, the modern kitty enclosure is framed by beautiful wooden slats that allow for proper ventilation.

Once inside the enclosure, the cats can enjoy the numerous perching spots, explore wooden boxes, and tend to their claws on a scratching post that runs through the entire space, top to bottom. There’s also a strategically placed glass box on one end that offers an clear view of the outside world, over the apartment balcony. Oh, how the other species live!

Taiwan-based design firm INDOT recently designed this piece of modern cat furniture for a family home.
