Epic Snow Tiger Battle Wins 2024 Nature Photographer of the Year

An epic tussle between two snow leopard siblings won the 2024 Nature  Photographer of the Year (NPOTY). The striking image, taken in northern India, garnered Italian photographer Paolo Della Rocca top honors in a highly competitive contest. The judges were not only blown away by the technical excellence of the photograph, but Della Rocca's tenacity to reach the location high in the snowy mountains of India's Spiti Valley.

Archeologists have made a thrilling discovery in Egypt—one that has been twenty years in the making. The burial chamber of an ancient Egyptian priestess was found in a previously inaccessible section of the necropolis of Asyut. The unusual intricacy of the objects unearthed there is offering researchers new insights about women in power and funeral rites. The biggest findings are two richly decorated coffins made from imported wood that fit into each other.

Couple Is Finally Selling 1,000 Christmas Trees That They Planted 10 Years Ago To Pay for Grandkids’ Education

Ten years ago, Bruce and Shawn Carpenter had a big idea: they planted 5,000 tiny pine and fir trees in rural Indiana, dreaming of what they could become. Fast forward to today, and around 1,000 of those trees survived and are now fully grown. The couple—who own a holiday campground in Brown County—are currently selling them, and plan to use the proceeds to help fund their eight grandchildren’s education.
