Astronomers Discover Football Field-Sized Asteroid That May Strike Earth in 2032

Astronomers recently identified an asteroid that has a small chance of striking Earth on December 22, 2032. The space rock, known as 2024 YR4, is about 130 feet to about 300 feet in diameter—making it about as big as a football field. Videographer Loses Camera in Vancouver Island Waters and Accidentally Films Stunning Humpback Whale Footage

Sometimes what we perceive as mistakes are actually blessings in disguise. This is what Vancouver Island-based underwater videographer Peter Mieras discovered when he lost his action camera in the ocean—only to accidentally capture a breathtaking video of a humpback whale in the process. Mieras attached his Insta360 X4 camera to a fishing rod in the hopes of capturing interesting footage in the shallow waters near his home in Barkley Sound.
