11-Year-Old Submitted a Drawing of a Playground to City Hall and They Built It in Real Life

When we think of children’s drawings, they often strike us as whimsical, playful, and not always the most realistic. A drawing by a young girl in Clearfield, Utah, however, recently became reality through her determination, creativity, and the help of her city’s Parks & Recreation department. Eleven-year-old Rosili Olson hatched a plan for a new neighborhood playground last year, hoping it would be safer for her younger sisters to play on.

Snøhetta Designs Cozy Minimalist Refuge for Hikers in the Pyrenees

Architecture firm Snøhetta will be helping hikers in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park rest and recharge thanks to a new refuge. Located along the Cirque de Barroude natural site, it replaces the Barroude mountain refuge that was destroyed a decade ago in an accidental fire. The new refuge, in keeping with the firm's environmental ethos, will have a minimal footprint and incorporate the park's natural flora and fauna.
