Mesmerizing Time-Lapse Videos Show How Much Plants Move During a Day

It might not seem like it, but plants are continuously moving throughout the day. Although many are anchored to the soil, their leaves change position as their environment changes, too.  This phenomenon is best demonstrated through time-lapse videos of the tiny movements that a plant makes over the course of a day. When sped up, it’s incredible to see just how much is happening when we aren’t looking.

Amazing Finalists of Ocean Photography Awards Pay Homage to the Stunning Seas

If the finalists are any indication, the inaugural Ocean Photography Awards, presented by Oceanographic Magazine, is off to a great start. Over 3,000 entries were whittled down to 100 finalists across six categories. Dealing with issues of conservation, as well as showing off adventures and exploration, these finalist images are a beautiful cross-section of ocean photography. The finalists include familiar names like Florian Ledoux, whose work in the Arctic frequently wins awards.

Architect Proposes a ‘Tree-House School’ That Imagines Learning in a Post-COVID World

Architect Valentino Gareri has released a conceptual design for an early education center that integrates precautions for COVID-19. The Tree-House School is intended to serve students at multiple levels, from kindergarten to secondary school, while introducing them to an alternative space of learning. Gareri was inspired to create this project as a study of architecture meeting the needs of a post-COVID world.
