Imaginary Japanese Storefronts Come to Life in Charming Watercolor Scenes

When Polish animator Mateusz Urbanowicz moved to Tokyo in 2014, he began depicting some of his favorite storefronts in colorful watercolor illustrations. The artist has since continued his passion for cityscapes, but he's taken the drawings in a different direction. Urbanowicz's series New Storefronts depicts imaginary Japanese storefronts inspired by retro architecture styles. Every building in New Storefronts is based on a prompt given by Urbanowicz's fans on his popular YouTube channel.

Much of a garden's lifecycle passes quietly beneath our noses. Story of Flowers is an animated film by Azuma Makoto which celebrates the subtle drama of insects, roots, and plant growth. The video transforms nature into a work of art. Makoto, a flower artist, creates massive floral sculptures which are placed into scenes of daily life in Japan. His photography and videography allow these sculptures to come to life through their interaction with the community.

11-Year-Old Nigerian Dancer Gets International Dance Scholarship Because of Viral Video

If you were to describe 11-year-old Nigerian dancer Anthony Mmesoma Madu in only a few words, graceful and ethereal would be apt descriptors. The young performer has leaped over hurdles of stereotypes to become an accomplished dancer and, recently, a viral sensation. Back in June, the Leap of Dance Academy (the school that Madu attends as one of only 12 students) posted a video that provided a glimpse of the young artist in his element.
