7 Spirited Works of Art Sparked by Revolution

In 1830, French artist Eugène Delacroix described an ambitious new project in a letter to his brother. “I have undertaken a modern subject, a barricade, and although I may not have fought for my country, at least I shall have painted for her,” he wrote. “It has restored my good spirits.” This work-in-progress would become Liberty Leading the People, a large-scale painting portraying a subject favored by forward-thinking artists: revolution.

Family Builds Custom Bar in Their Garden That Looks Just Like a Real Pub Inside

Having a local pub is great, but imagine the convenience of having a bar in your own backyard. That’s exactly what the Crabtree family in Manchester, England treated themselves to. During lockdown, they commissioned local furniture business Octavia Chic to create a tiny garden pub, aptly called The Drunken Crab. Taking three to four weeks to complete, the adorable DIY drinking den is built from wood and looks super stylish from the outside.
