Doting Dad Creates Time-Lapse Video of Daughter Growing Up From 0 to 20 Years Old

Timelapse Video Portrait of Lotte Age 0-20 by Frans Hofmeester

Two years ago, we introduced you to the work of Dutch filmmaker, photographer, and loving father Frans Hofmeester, who has been documenting the transformation of his two children as they grow up with captivating time-lapse videos. Back in 2017, his daughter Lotte had just turned 18—a milestone that was commemorated with a video portrait that allowed viewers to watch how she changed from a baby to an adolescent to a young adult in less than 6 minutes. Now, Lotte is 20 years old, so Hofmeester has updated his time-lapse video with the addition of footage from the last 2 years.

“Every week since their birth I have taken the time to film my two children, Lotte and Vince for a few moments,” Hofmeester explains. “I wanted to document the growing up process and create an artistic project we could all enjoy forever.” The Portrait of Lotte, 0 to 20 years video comprises 1,040 different clips, sped up, and arranged to show the amazing and profound process of a human life. Lotte is seen transforming from an adorable, dribbling baby to a sophisticated young woman in a matter of minutes. Hofmeester says, “So many emotions in just 5 minutes dictates the whole story of a teenager.”
