Standard cubicles and traditional cafeterias are a thing of the past, as growing companies, particularly in the social media circuit, are opting for a more open environment that allows for employee interaction. Earlier today, Katie shared Twitter's main global office with us and now we bring you the new Pinterest Headquarters, which also happens to be based in San Francisco.
The two-story office, which used to be a warehouse, is designed to house up to 300 employees for the rapidly growing company. The large, accommodating space is the combined architectural and design efforts of All of the Above, First Office, and Schwartz and Architecture.
Each level of the restored site has its own purpose, keeping an orderly separation between personal and communal spaces that allows workers to be as productive as possible and complete projects cohesively. The upper level of the office is designated for private working stations, while the ground floor is a more cooperative environment. It is adorned with long tables for social and interactivity, as well as conferencing areas for collaborations.
