Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. In 2013, she authored the book "Street Art Stories Roma" and most recently contributed to "Crossroads: A Glimpse Into the Life of Alice Pasquini." Street Artists Paint Vibrant Murals Across Georgia’s Largest Cities

In 2024, the country of Georgia became a bit more colorful thanks to the work of Tbilisi Mural Fest, which expanded its reach across five cities. The street art festival, which has run for six years, produced over 20 largescale murals in Georgia's five largest cities—Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi, Gori, and Gurjaani. The results are the fruit of a rich program of local and international artists.

Photographer Travels To Remote Forests of Indonesia To Capture Images of Rare Insects

For the past decade, scientific researcher and professional photographer Mofeed Abu Shalwa has allowed his passion for insects to guide his adventures. And recently, a voyage to Indonesia led to some difficult challenges and extraordinary photography. The Saudi photographer spent 17 days on the islands of Seram and Kalimantan, driven by the desire to photograph rare insects. As Shalwa is particularly fascinated by beetles, he first reached out to local entomologists specializing in this insect.

Mirrored Concert Hall Reflects the Sands of the Saudi Desert

When charged with building a concert hall that would become a landmark in the oasis of AlUla, Giò Forma Architects operated under a simple guiding principal—”if a building can not compete with the landscape it should enhance it.” And thus, the mirrored Maraya Concert Hall was born. Opened in 2019, the building is both functional and aesthetically breathtaking thanks to an exterior clad in 9,740 square meters (approximately 104,840 square feet) of mirrors.
