8-Year-Old Receives One of the Last Letters Ever Written by Queen Elizabeth II

Up until her death, Queen Elizabeth II was an example of strength. In spite of her old age, she carried on with her duties, such as meeting with the new prime minister and keeping up with her correspondence. One of the last letters she sent reached its intended recipient on the same day that the Queen's death was announced. Eight-year-old Oliva Akers from Tallygaroopna, Australia, received an official letter from the Queen on September 8, 2022.

Naive U.S. Tourist Asked the Queen to Take a Photo of Him With Her Bodyguard

Throughout her 70-year reign, Queen Elizabeth II remained a relatively private figure. She gave almost no interviews during her lifetime, preferring to fulfill her royal duties quietly. Due to this, her personality has mostly been captured by anecdotes shared by those close to her. One such story was given by one of her bodyguards to Sky News, which describes an instance where a pair of naive tourists did not recognize her.
