Woman Takes Hours-Long Walks Around NYC Inspiring Others to Experience the City on Foot

Picture a Tuesday morning in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A young woman laces up her sneakers, grabs a bottle of coconut water, and heads out with no train ticket, no rideshare app, and no real destination. Ten hours and roughly 18 miles later, she crosses the George Washington Bridge into New Jersey, phone battery drained, feet sore, and smile still intact. For a  woman named Isabella Carr, days like this have become routine.

Mushroom-Shaped Stools Glow When Nearby Strangers Connect Through Body Language

Public seating rarely asks anything of the people who use it. A bench holds bodies. A stool supports weight. Neither one acknowledges the person sitting on it, let alone the stranger sitting nearby. Industrial design student Bahar Aryana imagined something more interactive with Spore, a series of mushroom-inspired stools that illuminate when they sense people sharing similar body language. At first glance, each rounded stool resembles a soft mushroom emerging from the forest floor.

Suspended Rings Float Through an Industrial Hall in Kinetic Light Installation

Spanish artist SpY has unveiled a mesmerizing new installation for the 2026 NUR International Media Art Festival in Kazan, Russia. Titled CYCLES N2, the large-scale work suspends 15 illuminated rings above a dramatic hall lined with glowing red ramps. The rings rise and fall in synchronized motion while a custom soundtrack fills the space, transforming the industrial setting into an immersive environment that constantly shifts before visitors’ eyes.

Largest “Photograph” Ever Made Fills Nearly 5 Acres of a Wheat Field

In southern France, artist Almudena Romero created what many describe as the largest photographic artwork ever made by transforming a two-hectare (nearly 5-acre) wheat field into a living image of a human eye. The work belongs to her ongoing project Farming Photographs, developed with the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRAE), and it reframes photography as a biological system rather than a mechanical one. Romero avoids cameras, lenses, and ink.
