It might seem crazy to think that a birthday cake could outdo any gift you would receive on your special day. But with the amazing things that bakers are now doing with confections, it's no surprise that cake art can be the most memorable part of your celebration. One photographer had a delicious way to commemorate his birth with a cake by Karen Ng of Pipette By Karen. The dessert she produced looked just like a camera lens that he owns.

Inspired by the Leica Summilux 50mm f/1.4 lens, the frosted cake with black icing features the defining characteristics of the photography tool. It has a dusty cap with tiny lettering on the side indicating the possible lens settings. Ng’s confection is complete with a row of notches that would normally adjust the focus, but here, they’re an expert touch that makes this cake seem all the more real.

Aside from the faithful recreation of the lens, Ng also threw in a fun touch that personalizes the confection for this lucky photographer. On the cake’s focal length, she sets it to “34” to signify that it’s time to celebrate his 34th birthday.

Karen Ng of Pipette By Karen created birthday cake art that's a faithful recreation of a photographer's favorite lens, the Leica Summilux 50mm f/1.4 lens.
