Mississippi-born musician Jimmy Buffett has died at the age of 76. He passed away peacefully after a four-year battle with Merkel cell skin cancer, an aggressive form of the disease. His best-known song “Margaritaville” captured the imaginations of listeners everywhere for its escapist lyrics. That same song created a dedicated fanbase of “Parrotheads” and sparked a chain of restaurants embodying the same beachy lifestyle.

The song “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, first recorded in 1984, has become an anthem that transcends generations and backgrounds. After all, Cohen himself said that “many different hallelujahs exist,” as the tune speaks of finding faith in life itself. No aspect of this song explains this as well as the myriad of covers that have been recorded—some mournful, some full of hope. RIP Ron Cephas Jones: Emmy-Winning ‘This Is Us’ Star Dies at 66

Actor Ron Cephas Jones, best known for his role on the TV show This Is Us, has died at the age of 66. The Emmy-winner survived a double lung transplant in 2020 at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center but had been struggling with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. An official statement said the condition was the cause of his early passing. Jones was a talent on Broadway as well as on screen.
