Hairstylist Translates Beauty of the Natural World into Dazzling Dyed Hair

Hair Art by Ursula Goff

For those who are creatively minded, anything can be a canvas for works of art—even hair. For years, we’ve marveled as women and men have transformed their conventionally-colored locks into brilliant forms of self-expression. In 2016, we featured hairstylist Ursula Goff’s take on hair art as she turned women's coifs into shimmering dye jobs that mimic fine art paintings like Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Monet’s Water Lilies.

Since wowing us with her unique take on the classics, Goff has continued to explore new ways to express our world. Some of her most recent creations take inspiration from the natural world. From sparkly rocks to hot springs to the cosmos, anything is fair game for Goff. The results are not only beautiful, but they show an impressive depth of color. When compared to their source photograph, the resemblance is uncanny.

For all you aspiring colorists out there, Goff will teach you some of the tricks of her trade. On her website, you can purchase digital files that will show you how to achieve some of her complex color techniques.
