Beloved Portland Galleries Give Back to the Art Community After Tragedy

Venture to the Alberta Arts District in Northeast Portland to discover one of its most beloved pairs of art spaces: Antler and Talon Galleries. The two are mainstays in the vibrant neighborhood, having first been opened in 2012 as solely the Antler Gallery. Comprising just 100 square feet of space at its inception, founders Susannah Kelly and Neil Perry had ambitious plans for the gallery and the work they chose to exhibit.

Shimmering Flying Fish Swarm Visitors in Immersive Robotics Installation at Museum of the Future

Thailand-based creative collective bit.studio sees technology as a resource for art, rather than something that hinders creativity. Prompted by their background in software development, robotics, machine learning, and interactive design, they’ve created the interactive installation FLOCK OF. Here, a school of shimmering fish swim through the air and swarm spectators, sending a message about the ever-changing nature of existence. The installation features 20 fish, each made up of a 5-f00t-long helium-filled balloon with two motors.

This shatters Klimt’s previous auction record, and the price makes it one of the most valuable portraits in modern art. It also holds the distinction of being the second most expensive artwork ever sold at auction.
