Illuminating Infographic Visualizes Existence as an Intricate Winding “Time Spiral”

In the grand scheme of things, our existence is a blip on the radar. Or, in the case of the work by Pablo Carlos Budassi, the tail end of a very long spiral. The infographic illustrator has created Nature Timespiral, a design that starts with the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago and ends in the present day with humans as city dwellers. Budassi created a visual system for the infographic.

Incredible Phenomenon Makes Chicago Skyline Visible in Sunsets From 50 Miles Away

During the right conditions, those visiting Porter beach at the Indiana Dunes National Park are able to see the Chicago skyline from 50 miles away. The stunning phenomenon occurs during a clear day, when the setting sun illuminates the cityscape. Seen from the other side of Lake Michigan, Chicago looks just like an otherworldly, floating city. Photographer Lynda Myszkowski is one person who managed to capture the sun-lit skyline.

Barnacles are a particularly sticky type of crustacean that love to attach themselves to hard surfaces such as rocks and ships. However, sometimes, the marine creatures also adhere to the shells of sea turtles. A single barnacle doesn’t harm a turtle and will usually go unnoticed; however, if too many barnacles attach themselves to the turtle’s shell, it can cause serious problems.
