UNESCO Grants World Heritage Status to Ancient Sites in Lebanon, Palestine, and Iran

During the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee in Busan, South Korea, last month, UNESCO added 25 new sites to its World Heritage List. Among them were ancient sites in Lebanon, Palestine, and Iran, helping to protect cultural heritage in regions affected by conflict. In Iran, Alamūt Castle and six related fortifications were added to the list.
